Network marketing, aka mlm, aka Direct Sales is a passion of mine. I absolutely love this industry (along with about 80 million other people). So, today I want to touch on the top 3 reasons why people fail at network marketing. Without any further adieu lets get into this.

Hold that thought….. If you knew you were going to fail at Network Marketing for 10 years,  fail in 11 different network marketing companies would you quit? What if you you knew that after 10 years and in your 11th company you would go on to make $8, 000, 000, Would you still quit?   **** to be continued****

You Will Fail At Network Marketing if you Play The Blame Game

All too often people do not want to take responsibility for their failures, so they play the blame game. They quit their business before they even recoup their initial investment.

  • My sponsor/upline didn’t help me!
  • I didn’t like the comp plan.
  • The products were too expensive.
  • I just don’t have time right now!

why people fail at network marketingThere is only one person that will determine your success or lack there of in this industry, that person is YOU.  While the industry does have a system where each person has a sponsor or an upline, that person does not owe you anything, they can’t hold everyone’s hand. Don’t get me wrong there are a lot of great leaders in this space, but not every sponsor is a Leader. That’s why we are so blessed to have Facebook Groups, Telegram Chats, Back Offices with Training’s, etc. 9 times out of 10 when you join a MLM company you have everything you need to succeed within the first 5 minutes.

Another one of my favourites is “oh gosh, I just don’t have time right now!”  You don’t have time?  We all have the same number of hours in the day, but if you are too busy watching Maury Povich to get off the couch and make some money then its no wonder you don’t have time. I get it, life is busy. I work construction anywhere between 40 and 60 hours a week, I usually commute 2 to 3 even 4 hours a day, I have 2 daughters under 3 years old, I am busy too.. But guess what, I don’t want to be busy all the time.  I don’t have the money to start a traditional business, nor do I have an idea for one, I have not and will not win the lottery or marry a Nigerian Prince but I do have Network Marketing and  I find time to make it work.

You will Fail at Network Marketing if you Have Shiny Object Syndrome

Guilty?  I am or at least I was.  In my first 5 years I  signed up and paid for at least 6 different business opportunities! Health and Wellness, Coffee, Bitcoin, High Ticket, Low Ticket, Travel. Then I tried E-Commerce, ad surfing and even surveys. I bought every tool that was supposed to help me build my business. There is no easy button when it comes to Network Marketing or making money online for that matter. It comes down to one thing. More on that later.

Now, shiny object syndrome is not always a bad thing and some people actually need to go through this phase to actually find something they love and are passionate about. But at the end of the day there are hundreds of awesome Network Marketing Companies out there and there are people making a full time income in 99% of the, you just have to find one you like and stick at it. Put your head down and get to work.

If you just join an opportunity for a month 2 or even 6 months and then quit and move on to the next shiny object you are just going to end up with a closet full of products you will never use and a maxxed out credit card. You have to find a company or a leader whose products or beliefs align with yours and then go for it!

Lastly You Will Fail At Network Marketing If You Do Not Take Massive Action

why people fail at network marketingIn this industry we are constantly bombarded with different training courses, personal development, social media, email marketing, paid traffic, free traffic…. the list goes on. Like Simon Chan says, “sometimes we need to get on a pd diet”. There are a lot of great courses out there but sometimes we need to stop learning and start doing. If you don’t take time to consistently do your income producing activities guess what? You are not going to produce any income.

You will never make a dime in Network Marketing unless you are talking to people. That could be on the phone, in person, on Facebook, through Youtube videos, Instagram  or even an old school Blog like this one. Pick one or two items from the list above and start doing them consistently, daily!!! You will get eyes on your business and you will start to see the results in your business.

If you only have 1 hour a day to work on your business, take massive action for that one hour every day, 7 days a week. If you have 4 hours a day take massive action for those 4 hours, every day!

Massive Action is uncomfortable, that is why so many people fail in network marketing. People are not willing to get uncomfortable, not willing to get out of their comfort zone.  I hate public speaking, I am horrible at it!  I refused to do Youtube Videos because it made me feel uncomfortable.  So what did I do…..  I joined Toastmasters, 4 months later I got up and gave my first speech shortly after that I started making Youtube videos!  I got out of my comfort zone…. heck I am even gonna do a Youtube Video about this post and paste it below, its not gonna be professional heck it might not even be good but someone will watch it and someone may even possibly reach out to me looking for a business opportunity.

When you finally get uncomfortable and start taking massive action good things will start to happen in your business. If you do not take massive action you will fail in network marketing.

***Continued**** Jordon Adler built a team of 85,000 people, he did so by sponsoring one to three people a month and went on to make $8 million dollars in that company,  which was his eleventh network marketing company in 10 years**** (this info was taken from an older interview its more like $20 million now… no big deal)
